MY STORY
My journey to become a licensed psychotherapist began several years back by virtue of my personal journey of self-discovery. It has been a rewarding experience since, in working with many clients and walking alongside them through their own journey of self-discovery, in navigating through their life’s challenges, and in landing in places through their personal journey of growth that they have otherwise thought not possible.
My areas of passion include trauma and stress-disease, mind-body connection. I’ve worked with clients on issues relating to anxiety, low self-esteem, negative self-image, depression, shock trauma, developmental trauma, stress in different areas of life. Symptoms of which can manifest as insomnia, panic attacks, chronic depression, problem with anger management, obsessive compulsive behaviors, phobias, eating disorders, addictions, paranoia and other physical health issues such as migraine, chronic pain, auto-immune disease, irritable bowel syndrome, etc.
I journey with my clients to uncover and understand the source of symptoms whenever possible. I use research-backed therapeutic modalities including Talk-based therapy (ex. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Inquiry, etc), Somatic therapy (ex. Somatic Experiencing), and Hypnotherapy. Through discovery and acceptance, I work with my clients to formulate interventions to allow them to manage or resolve the underlying challenges so that they can start the healing process and inch towards living their life more fully.
I have lived in Singapore and the United States and I have had the privilege to work in cross-cultural settings. I have also had exposure to different work settings from corporate setting to small and medium business to family business to start-up. I work with clients in managing the stress and challenges that come with steering through relationships in various work and home settings.
